Halloween is over; November has arrived. Here are our Top 5 Picks for things to do this Weekend in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is Awesome for so many reasons. Check out these events and let us know about your favorite weekend activities.

 Day of the Dead Celebrations

Celebrate life & experience the rich customs of the Day of the Dead at the Springs Preserve 11/1-2, from 4-9pm.  Día de Muertos blends rich customs with live entertainment, mariachis, traditional Mexican food, face painting, sugar skull decorating, & more.  Tickets are $5-$8 in advance; $6-$10 at the door.

Life in Death: Day of the Dead,” a two-day festival featuring displays, performances, an art exhibit, craft sales, & food vendors will be held at Winchester Cultural Center & Park 11/1-2, from 5-9pm. The event will explore cultural traditions relating to the Mexican holiday of El Dia de los Muertos.  Free admission.

Civil War

"Civil War Days in the Battle Born State" at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park will be held 10/31-11/2.  See “battles” staged by over 300 re-enactors, plus a period baseball game, a theatrical troupe, a ladies' tea & fashion show, & more.  Civil War events $3 admission.  State Park entrance fee $7-$9 per car.

Haight & Ash Artwalk

Handmade and unique artists will be selling their art ranging from photography to clothing in a free outdoor event. The event will benefit the building of habitats at True Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary. Do some early holiday shopping while supporting local handmade artists.  There are still vendor booths available, please contact truewild@live.com for more information. Free. November 2, 2014 10am

Balloon Festival

The 4th annual Balloon Festival at Southern Hills Hospital will be held 10/31-11/2.  Festivities include early morning balloon launches, Saturday health fair, haunted maze and trick-or-treating (Oct. 31), evening balloon glows, amusement rides, entertainment, food vendors, & more.  Admission is free.

NHRA Toyota Nationals @ Las Vegas Motor Speed Way

  John Force, Courtney Force, Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown and all of the stars of the NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series will descend upon The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 for the 14th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals. The event will be the next-to-last race of the 2014 season and NHRA World Championships in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle could be decided during the weekend.
