Be Awesome Vegas & Recycle Your Christmas Tree

FREE Christmas Tree Recycling

It’s that time of year and the weekend when most of us are removing the Holiday decorations and storing away the lights and holiday ornaments. But what do you do with the tree?

The Conservation District of Southern Nevada, Springs Preserve along with the Christmas Tree Recycling Committee and many local business are supporting the environment and green cause  be hosting the Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program Now through - January 15. Drop off your cut Christmas tree for FREE at over 20 convenient locations around the Valley.

Helpful Tips:

Most locations are open 24 hours a day for drop off, but call to be sure. For more information on locations nearest you or hours of operation, you can call Tara Pike-Nordstom at UNLV Rebel Recycling at (702) 895-3760.

Before dropping off your tree, remove all non-organic objects, such as lights, wire, tinsel, ornaments and nails. (I don’t know about you, but that means removing everything from the tree. I don’t remember ever decorating with organic decorations or lights.) Foreign objects can harm volunteers (we wouldn’t want that), and chipping machines that mulch the trees. Flocked trees cannot be recycled, because unfortunately, most flocking is toxic, these trees will end up in the landfill, all others will be recycled. Below are the locations accepting your Christmas trees for the recycling program.
